| I purchased an older IMAC for my wife and children to use as the PC laptop they were using before died. when you need a word processor, xl program and presentation program you can buy and MS product or an apple one.
Because the computer was a Mac I chose IWORK. It's worked very well and my wife and children rave about it. It is after all a round peg in a round hole. Perfect fit. |

| I was all excited and ready to make DVDs of my grandkids..... guess what ? This iLife 05' on CD ROM does not include the iDVD program as they advertise. What a rip off. Now i am returning it to AMAZON.COM and i have now ordered the ilife 06' application on DVD, straight from Apple which does include the iDVD program. |

| The main programs I use are Iphoto and Itunes. Since Itunes is free (and if you have an Ipod, you have no choice), I'll concern myself with Iphoto and not rate the other programs in the suite. I have not upgraded to Ilife 08, nor do I have any plans to.
Although Iphoto is not free, a lot of programs rely on it (such as ComicLife) so not using Iphoto is almost not a choice. First of all, if you have a substantial photo collection (mine is over 40,000 images), you need to have memory. I ... Read More: |

| I have AppleWorks 6 and MS Office 2004 on my laptop, but I prefer to use iWorks. I just wish I had watited a few days longer and purchased iWorks 6 which seems to have a few new item I would like. |

| I installed mac os 10.2 and it booted with no brightness. I'am using a apple wallstreet 250 MHZ. Every time I startup the screen is dim and I have to turn up the contrast. If I wake it up from sleep mode it won't let me adjust the brightness unless I reboot. A real big pain in the neck. I have been using OS 9 for 3 years now. I was planning on upgrading my memory and my hard drive. Then go to 10.2. I'am glad I tested it first before upgrading. That would be a waste of time and money. So it was a good lesson.
