| Late to the party, I wanted to make sure that Apple had ironed out the kinks in the latest OS update.
For the most part, the update works great for end-users. However, I run a mail and web server on a Mac Mini that I applied the upgrade to, and once again, all the configuration files for file sharing, Apache and Postfix were altered and no indication was given that they would have to be re-edited to work with the newer versions of the open source tools. | Going from PC to Apple is not as easy as you would think. But the Operating System and the features are out of this world. I'm glad I switched and am learning to utilize my commputer and software. It is good with compatability issues for those who have to move back and forth between the PC and Apple environments. |

| Of most of the products in the iLife suite there isn't much to say, because whether its iPhoto or GarageBand, the basic killer apps remain the same, but are also vastly improved from the '06 suite. The only application that this doesn't hold true for is iMovie '08, which is now rendered completely useless by several sideways "upgrades". | I've been on the Final Cut Express (FCE) bandwagon since the very first version, when I needed something bigger than iMovie to do an amateur movie. Well, now it's at version 4, and I've gone from Amateur to Advanced Semi-Pro, partially because of FCE.

| As someone who comes from an IT background, who has been a Photoshop user since version 3, I have to say the latest version of Aperture is a grand slam out-of-the-park home run. I used the trial versions of Adobe's Light Room, and Aperture, and came away from my experience with a clear preference to Apple's product primarily because Aperture's user interface is much more clear and intuitive.

| Iworks is a great set of apps. I use Keynote for professional presentation software. It is excellent and easy to use. I also love pages which is a very easy to use word processor which uses the standard Mac OS system of editing tools. Some times simpler is far better! Pages works and you don't need a Ph.D. to use it. |

| Well, I wish I had a chance to read these reviews on Amazon before I bought it. I have had a macbook pro since 2006. It worked so well, i decided to go for a iMac and mobile me. The downdraft of Vista and the problems with that system motivated me to try something different from the Microsoft monopoly.

| I have to admit, I don't use iDVD or Garageband much yet, but I use iPhoto quite a bit. I have almost 20,000 photos to manage, and iPhoto does a good job. I hope to use Garageband at some point after I get a new music keyboard, although that isn't necessary.
I am disappointed with iMovie, though. They really dumbed-down its capabilities. For many people, it may be easier, if all you want to do is some minor processing and move your recorded video onto a DVD.
