| Excellent -- very pleased with the software. I had used an older version of this software (Mac format)-- very user friendly. This updated version (IBM format) is every bit as user friendly. Program allows one to do complex graphic designs with minimal effort and in a very short period of time. Excellent to do graphics for print and web. Very powerful program. Highly recommend for users who have limited knowledge of Photoshop and for those with limited graphic design experience. |

| If you use InDesign for books requiring indexes, do NOT upgrade to this version. InDesign CS3 (for both Windows and Macs) has serious problems with indexing multi-document books that does not exist in CS2. It drops entries and scrambles page numbers seemingly at random, while giving no warning that something has gone wrong. Any index it produces cannot be trusted. | Save your money, stick with CS2! Everything they've 'upgraded' in this version is a downgrade as far as I'm concerned. I work in a production environment using Adobe Illustrator 7+ hours a day and the CS3 upgrade has done nothing but make my job harder. Apparently Adobe is getting input from non-users these days in order to fashion their upgrades. Either that, or they needed to justify an upgrade (to a perfectly fine version) in order to generate revenue.

| As a previous reviewer mentioned, this is a professional product, and for those of us who have used Pagemaker-like products for decades, nothing else quite comes close.
Yet some aspects are absolutely maddening. To take a minor example: if you open an InDesign file by double-clicking it, Adobe cannot for the life of it figure out the directory path for that file. All it knows is the location of the last saved file. I own dozens of shareware programs that can do better than this. Read More: |
