| I had quit using Norton for the last few of years. I needed a new Internet Security Suite and Norton 2009 was rated at or near the top of all the ratings I checked. Norton did especially well with independent lab tests. (There are so many companies trying to look independent, so it takes some effort to find truly independent tests.)
Norton found a "Trojan" my old Suite did Not find (Kaspersky). It also Scans much faster. |

| This product was recommended to me when I purchased my laptop at a big box store. I did not buy it there but searched for the best price. I found the best price on Amazon.
Since installing Kaspersky, I have barely noticed it. That is a nice change after having both Norton and McAfee in the past. It always seemed like they were popping up with annoying updates. Best of all, it doesn't cram up my CPU so I can actually have quite a few other programs open with out my computer slowing. I would highly recommend ... Read More: |

| I bought this product because Consumer Reports rated it #1. It's the first time I've been disappointed in CR. This product sort of works. I set it up to run a deep scan at 1 AM and a system scan at 4 AM. Apparently you can't run 2 scans in one night. It locked up the software and I had to reboot. I contacted support and after 3 trys they responded and told me to download a newer version from their site. It seems to be acting a little better but not much. | While I did not expect much with McAfee Internet Security 2009 it did, at least, meet my expectations. As someone that works in the computing industry I know how the consumer level anti-virus packages can be below par and really cause headaches for the end user. Corporate level packages are much better, but I will get off topic here...

| I've been a Trend Micro user for many many years now and I am a very happy customer indeed. If you need an easy to use solution for virus protection, firewall, and just the ability to use your computer without worrying about any nasties that you will get on the web or email you HAVE to try out this product! It's a great bargain at the price point its at, the customer support is fantastic and it's an easy to use product all around. I love it and continue to upgrade every year.

| My PC has a 2.2g duel core intel processor with 2g RAM (any of you folks out there who still has less than 1 g of ram, or still using single core, please, stop complaining abt new softwares slowing down your PC and get real!). I was using NIS 2006 previously on this PC. Recently, the subscription for NIS 2006 ran out so I uninstalled it (which went without a glitch!!!! yes, I just used the normal "do it from the control panel method"!). Then I loaded in NIS 2008. Pros: * Seamless XP App integration with Unity * Free upgrade to 2.x * Downloadable utility to import your old Windows PC image saves a ton of reinstall work. * Plenty of available VMware images containing Open Source OS's available to tinker with. | I have been using Norton before trying Trend Micro Internet Security for as long as I can remember, and I'm sorry to say that I think it's going to stay that way. I don't hate this product at all and it does include many more things that Norton does not. I just don't feel I need them and it really slows down my computer. I would compare it to Norton 360. The Norton Live and the anti-virus protection is all I need. Someone who does a lot with finances may find this item well worth while.

| I have been using this software for years. Works perfect for me. I've been using computers for nearly 25 years now. This is not a stand alone program. Works well with McAfee Suite. Also using RegCure and Diskeeper with Invisi Tasking which is a must. All programs with auto update.
