| I've used various Windows OS for the past 10 years, various Linux for the past 2, and played around with Mac some. BeOS is not just different, but clearly superior in many ways. Part of the reason why is that BeOS doesn't run on top of DOS, as Windows did until recent years, and it doesn't run on top of Unix, like Linux and Mac OS X. | I have the BeOS 5 Pro, and I can tell anyone who is unsure of this system that it rocks. I installed the free version on my friends computer just as a test, and it improved his response by at least 150%! IT took only 12 seconds to boot, compared to windows 98 at 97 seconds, and just learning where everything is was easy. To the guy who is talking bout the office suite, Gobe Productive has one for it that is jsut as good as MS Office. If I compare it to Staroffice for Linux, it is about the same. ... Read More: |

| I never thought that my computer could do that, BeOS is far away the best OS. I didn't know that I could compile, play Quake 2 and listen to a mp3 in my k6-2 400... Its a new world of stability and speed. All this, plus the GoBE Productive (Its a quite cool office tool) and BeOS Bible by Mr Scott Hacker... if you read this book, You'll see what I mean when I say "BeOS is far away the best OS" Well done Be Inc! |
