| I love the new Adobe CS. It doesn't have a printed manual, but I like the fact that I can click on the help button and search for the answer I need.
I much prefer InDesign over Quark. It is easier to use, and you can set the shortcuts to be the same as Quark if you are having trouble switching over. I had used other html programs before, and I jumped into GoLive with a limited learning curve. Any questions I had were easily answered by searching the help. I highly recommend ... Read More: |

| The main programs I use are Iphoto and Itunes. Since Itunes is free (and if you have an Ipod, you have no choice), I'll concern myself with Iphoto and not rate the other programs in the suite. I have not upgraded to Ilife 08, nor do I have any plans to.
Although Iphoto is not free, a lot of programs rely on it (such as ComicLife) so not using Iphoto is almost not a choice. First of all, if you have a substantial photo collection (mine is over 40,000 images), you need to have memory. ... Read More: |

| I started my web page (...) using an online page builder. A good way to start, but not very creative. I then moved up to Adobe PageMill which gave me even more opportunity to design the look I wanted. | I bought this package based on a friend's recommendation. Looking back I wish I had saved the money and just bought Dreamweaver. I think they are both great programs, but from my experience you need only need one. If you own Illustrator or Photoshop you can build your graphics there and import them into Dreamweaver. If you don't just buy Fireworks, you can build an entire site and all your graphics in this program. I am a novice at web design, and I wanted to jump right in with setting up a site. | Unfortunately, I purchased this program because of Adobe's reputation. Maybe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat are great programs, but adobe has really struck out with golive. it has a clunky interface. the ftp browser hangs on me everytime I upload. the interface is not intuitive. when I edit pages, strange glitches occur.Shareware programs are easier to use, although not as feature rich as golive. Most of the experienced web designers I have talked to recommend dreamweaver. it looks like I will have to buy Dreamweaver |
