| MacDrive 7 did exactly what I needed it to do. In 1996 I changed jobs and went from using a Mac Powerbook to a Windows environment. I recently found that I needed to access one of my old Mac files, a MSWord document stored on a Mac formatted Iomega Zip Drive. I have a USB Zip Drive, but my Vista computer won't recognize the Mac formatted disk. | I would have given 0 stars if possible. I'm sure it it is just as arrogant (if software can be arrogant--or its makers are) as 15. I bought Omnipage 15 to scan pages and had a lot of problems, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately the program seems to have taken over my scanner and every picture I scan now is unreadable. A popup tries to reinstall Omnipage and won't let me open the picture files any other way. So all my scanned pictures are unusable. | This thing doesn't do much of anything. It will generate a pdf. It's exe stays in memory forever and you have to kill it. You can't edit a pdf with this product. |

| It works...converts into AVI, DIVX, and XVID. Takes a minute to rip but you can do other things while it does..the problem is I don't know how rip the segments and chapters I want. It rips an entire movie into several parts...how do you rip the movies into one file and one file alone? |

| I should've read the reviews, before purchasing this alleged package of hope. For anyone that writes in Microsoft Word and chooses to convert the document into PDF, take my word for it, SAVE YOUR WORD DOCUMENT. Burn it on CD, save it to an external hard drive, onto a diskette even! I was really disappointed with this product, because unlike all of the convincing words displayed on the box, the end result was the exact opposite. | This version of Omnipage is a waste of money. It works OK on a single document, but if you try to batch process a folder it will crash constantly. I've tried PDF and TIFF and the batch system can not make it through a single folder without a runtime error. Furthermore, the accuracy claim is a joke. It drops the ball with proper nouns. I'm using OCR for searching. I'm mainly searching for names. Omnipage may get 90% on verbs, pronouns and articles, but averages closer to 60% on the most important search content. I could live ... | I have just purchased this upgrade, so the following comments should be viewed as preliminary. Still, some information is better than none.
Having used OmniPage since its beginning, I have been irritated by the company's practice of releasing software before it has driven the bugs out. That does not appear to be a problem in this case.
