| After deciding to upgrade my laptop's harddrive, I wasn't sure how I was going to move the image from the old to the new without totally reinstalling everything. With a desktop it's easy...you just plug the new drive temporarily in to the drive controller, setting it up as a secondary, then use the software that comes with the drive to copy an image from old to new, but that won't work in a laptop. | My father got me this after having a good experience with it. He had a booting problem and was able to fix it by booting up with PC 8.0. I build computers and I used it to upgrade a my PC. I had Windows XP (which in my opinion is a dinosaur, get into Linux if you have a chance) in an old 20Gb hard drive. I was able to transfer (using the Copy Commander on PC 9.0) the OS and program files to a SATA 160Gb HD easily. It is also useful to partition new HDs before adding them to your system. |

This product was easy to install and accomplished what I was looking for. The product was recommended to me a number of years ago, and due to the number of operating system automatic updates and the limited size of my C drive, it became a neccessity. |

| This product does what is otherwise impossible: shrinks a partition without disturbing the data therein. Also it works very fast! It takes just a minute or two to shrink or expand a partition.

| The program was able to recognize a Linux installation on a second hard drive but unable to boot it. Then it suddenly began to start up with an update error window stating "Invalid registry key". And it wont't update or install again. I had used an earlier version and had problems years ago, and ended up reintalling Windows, which I may have to do again. | I would not accept the package from the mail system as it took almost three weeks to get the software to my house. I had to unload many photos and needed the soft ware to allow me to re-partition my drive. I finnaly purchased a new 160 GHz drive while I was waiting for the software to arrive. When it did get here I found that it was shipped via USPS book rate. This perhaps saved the mailing costs of a dollar or two but it sure was not in my best intrest.

| Ghost 9.0 et al was originally Drive Image by Powerquest. Drive Image was a
great product with good support. Symantec bought Powerquest and renamed Drive Image "Norton Ghost". I only bought Ghost because I know Drive Image is a good product. Symantec added a few inconsequential features but now provides zero technical support. Good luck if you have a question not on their FAQ site.
