| I have had Filemaker Pro 6 for years on my Mac. Use it daily. Never upgraded, but now needed new DB features, and was told by my programmer friend to get the new one. So, I bought the upgrade. It's fine except that you can't convert files from 6, because they changed the platform--something I found out after the fact, of course. | I bought FileMaker 9 Advanced and because of the draconian activatin policy I returned my copy to FileMaker for a full refund. I then bought FileMaker 8.5 Advanced on eBay. I am completely satisfied with 8.5. I will upgrade when FileMaker changes their activation policy. BTW I have owned FileMaker versions 2 through 7. |

| An upgrade from 8.5 to 9.0 at a cost of $290 is overpriced for the few features that have been added. But FMI needed to somehow fund the development of Bento so they've put the bite on their dedicated developers. |

| I've used VSS for years, just started using it again, the 2005 version with VS2005 and 2008. I've had nothing but trouble. Corruption, checking out files for no reason when I do a sync, and today it just overwrote about 20 files I had checked out with their old versions. If I didn't have backups - I'd have lost weeks of work.
Obviously I don't recommend anyone use this product! It's horrible. I've had trouble for weeks with coworkers and my work getting messed up on the servers because of errors with ... Read More: |

| This is the most incredible programming suite I have ever seen. If you can do it with another compiler, you can do it with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Enterprise Architect 2003. Not only does it have compilers for C/C++, C#, J#, and VB, it also contains an HTML editor, XML editor, and various other tools to help you build websites and web apps.
