| As an encyclopedia, it does a great job. At this price you get absolutely a great amount of and CORRECT knowledge. Dictionary, atlas, timelines and online updates are all good features.
I'm not a fun of BrainStormer, but that's fine. As a simple database + search software, sometimes taking up ~60% CUP power on my laptop with a 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo is unbearable. | I do not like this product because it's video is garbled, it gorges hard drive space,it doesn't have world flights, and the articles do not have much detail; they are very short. And if you do not have enough hard drive space to copy all data over to your hard drive, you have to swap CD's to find data (Not very convinient, it scratches CD's and is annoying to do a million times.)I sent it back to Microsoft on their 45-day money back garuntee, and they will send my money back. Compact, infinitely user-friendly, accessible in every way, and head-and-shoulders above every other Hebrew/Theological dictionary for the Hebrew Bible for beginning and intermediate students. However, this particular SOFTWARE has some built in, severely limiting "gotcha's" that will throw average users off and even make it unusable. | I purchased this software last year because I had to write quite a few papers for a certain college class. I used this software quite frequently. It was a great tool to use to help me get the correct information fast about the topics that I needed to write about. It has different formats so it can be used by children, teenagers, and adults. If you are in school or have a child in school, this product could definitely help you/them with class work or just general knowledge. |

| I don't have much doubt on the quality of the content of Britannica series, but will try to specifically mention a couple things on the packaged s/w version.
- Dictionary (part of this s/w) is not as rich as those online dictionary such as theFreeDictionary.com or dictionary.com. No pronounciation (only symbols). - Forced registration. | Merriam-Webster's Collegiate is the standard for many of us in magazine and book editing. Beware, if you expect to receive an up-to-date rendition of it on disk. I bought the printed Eleventh Edition a couple of months ago, then bought the disk version earlier this week because I thought it would expedite my word checks while editing onscreen. | This is a very handy little dictionary. It's not meant to be the complete Oxford English Dictionary with every word in it. But it does the average job you expect from any good paperback dictionary. With my pocket pc near by I find reading a book less of a chore when there's a quick way to look up words I'm uncertain of.

| I found this product to be very disappointing. They are advertising this product as a translator (and selling it for the price of a translator) when in fact this device is nothing else than a dictionary - which may be bought at a fraction of this price from any other store. The few basic (kindergarten level) sentences included in this dictionary do not entitle the device to be a translator by any means!
