| I purchased Outlook from Amazon.com. It was the first thing I've ever purchased from them.

| I bought this product because Outlook 2007 didn't seem to have as much power and flexibility for business management. After installing Act 2009 and adding all of my contact data, I found it to be very sluggish on my dual-core, 2.2 ghz pentium laptop with 2 gb ram. There is quite a lag time between clicking a button and seeing the screen refresh.

| Purchased OneNote for my new Tablet Laptop for school.
First time I tried it, the pen featured kept disabling itself stating "Windows XP tablet edition SP required". Um, ok I have that preinstalled on the laptop. Formated my machine and put a still steamy new copy of XP tablet edition back on. Nada. Upgrade to SP3, nada. | Outlook with Business Contact Manager is a misnomer. BCM is in reality a bolt-on application that works alongside Outlook with a similar file structure. This would be a fine arrangement except that Outlook and BCM do not integrate together. For example, contacts with the same name in both Outlook and BCM are different contacts and do not share information nor do they synchronize in any way. | My workplace just upgraded to 2009 from 2006, and while 2006 was easily the best version of this software I've ever used, the 2009 version is easily the worst and has gone backward in functuality.
For one thing, the program doesn't support Windows 2000, which all of the computers where I am run. I know, they should upgrade to XP, but they won't do that, so I'm stuck using this on a VPN running Server 2003, which is acceptable, though slow. | Our firm has been using ACT! for over 12 years. It "was" a great product at one time, but it has been trash since they went to the new SQL platform. Slow, cumbersome, hangs, and crashes. The integration with MS OUTLOOK is awful. We have quit trying to use the email integartion with Outlook two years ago.
The software has serious problems, but Sage has had no significant updates or patches to fix them. They want you to buy the newer version in hopes of something better. We tried that once, and it was still junk. ... Read More: |

| Customer manager is great for organizing your clients. Like it cause you can create notes and history files about each client, schedules, has a calender built in, syncs great with Quickbooks Pro. The merge contact features is also helpful. Managing client data couldn't be easier. Only draw back is we would like it to start up faster or have a smaller footprint on the system. So we could quickly add something without the whole program starting up. Maybe its wishful thinking. Overall a great product. |
