| I really enjoyed this project while it lasted. The image quality was phenominal and was viewable even in daylight. We built a home theater around this projector and had many great movie nights that provided an experience rivaling big movie theaters. However, after about 15 months of use and with nearly 1000 hours left on the bulb, the projector died suddenly, smoke pouring out of the unit. I was careful on the hours watched and programming. I would give a four star rating. Now for the bad news, the Hurricane Ike of September 2008 took the Moviemate in a wall of water from the Gulf of Mexico. |

| Colors are good, and it's really a light cannon, but I'm unimpressed by the light leakage. Around each corner you can see some white and colored light escaping and marring an otherwise beautiful picture. Also, the throw is pretty long even with the zoom pulled back all the way, so be sure you have enough room. The Epson Home 400 (about the same price) projects a much larger/higher quality image from the same distance, albeit less bright. Reasonable for a small cheap projector, but would not buy again. |

| I bought this projector because I need to show videos to large groups of people. I have it hooked up to a dvd player via the S-Video cable, and the picture is sharp. If you plan to watch videos with this projector, it will work nicely. It has 800x600 resolution, and as of right now, DVDs and standard TV are only 720x480 (so the resolution is more than enough). If you want to display HDTV, this projector can process a 720p signal, but it will downconvert it to fit its 800x600 native resolution.
