| Hey, for the price, this is a pretty excellent photo printer. The pictures are sharp, it is easy to use and set up as well.
The only issue is the speed of printing, but that might just be me. I get a little impatient at home because at work I have top of the line color photo printers, so that is not a fair assessment. | This printer has probably contributed to a measurable decrease in my life expectancy due to the stress of inevitable paper jams, erroneous messages about being out of paper when the carriage is full, frequent problems pulling the paper through, paper jams, paper jams, more paper jams.
Words can't even begin to capture how much I hate this printer, the only reason I would give it one star is that most printers are mysteries and have their own little idiosyncrasies that need to be worked around, ... Read More: |

| Someone is trying to sell a several years out of production printer for $400.00???? This printer was originally marketed at Sam's Club for $72.00
You can buy a current R280 direct for $55.00 and it's much better, even as good as the R200 printed, it certainly is not worth over $72.00 |

| I was astonished at what this scanner could do, in terms of preserving the gentle tones of my black and white negatives. My only regret is that there is no equivalent to Digital ICE for black and white. That problem is not unique to this scanner, of course.
The quality of the images I get from this scanner, with negatives from a basic 1970-vintage twin lens camera, trounces the images I get with a Canon 5D SLR. I also have used it with 35MM negatives, which work beautifully, and with both 4.5cm x 4.5cm negatives ... Read More: |

| My first Docupen R700 was defective out of the box. Thank goodness I purchased it from DataVision through Amazon. Planon's tech support was at the ready to help me download all new software, etc. to determine why my scans were severely distorted. They concluded that the product was defective and recommended replacement. Planon's RMA department (a disaster) took 1 1/2 weeks to generate a return number and could only promise a 3-4 week turn around for replacement. | Not exactly the best quality scans I've seen. In fact, I always run the scans through a filter in photoshop. No biggy. I don't regret buying it, but I'm not sure if I'd buy it again. Then again, for the price, you can't really complain. |

| This printer makes a photo print in less than 1 minute and the quality is pretty good. We noticed the color is a bit off from true color, but if you want truly accurate color reproduction, go to a photo lab!
Complaint #1: You need to be careful about getting dust in the printer and on the paper, because any dust/lint/hair will stay on the prints. | The quality of my print diminished within the first 2 months. I had to replace the ink fairly quickly... whereas i hadnt changed the ink in TWO YEARS on my HP. So the ink is cheap, but if you have to buy it more often, it's POINTLESS... Oh and here's the real kicker... the color ink runs out for NO reason and you cannot replace only one cartridge, you always have to replace both! The ink head broke too. I got so frustrated that i banged the printer and broke the scanner glass. Kodak was nice enough to replace it, so now i'm just trying to sell it, I ... Read More: |

| This printer has never worked correctly from the time of purchase. I bought it in 2005 and have had nothing but continuous issues. The print nozzles get stuck all of the time - I have had problems where I have cleaned the nozzles replaced the ink and it will go through the motions of printing, but then the paper comes out with no ink. I don't even use it that frequently. Now, the it will not feed paper. The roller will only roll the paper in one inch, start to print and then gives a paperjam error.

dock. It is absolutely the best!! Sure, you pay a little more for prints, but you can do them at home, whenever you want. You can also take it with you when you go on vacation, take your pics, and print them out. The greatest thing about that--Say you're at Niagra Falls. You take your pictures, go back to the hotel, print them out. What looked good on the LCD screen wasn't quite what you wanted. Go back in the morning and retake it.
