| the printer gave very good results, but see no need for all the insturction books, (2) that come with the printer. Everything said could surly be condensed to one simple to read and use set of insturctions. there should be a better system to tell what you are going to print before you print it. |

| After repeatedly trying to print from a card recommended in the booklet and after requesting technical support, I am unsatisfied with product and vendor. I emailed support on April 8th and was promised an answer within 48 hours and 4 days later am still waiting. |

| Owned the 4570c for a while. Avoid the bundled driver software if you can. The latest version, v2.0, downloads a mere 238MB (that's right "MB"!). It runs turtle speed, making a nice USB 2.0 scanner seem like it's USB 0.002.
Plugging into XP machine (my laptop), I let Microsoft find the driver. It downloaded and installed WIA-HP, a twain driver that is menial (very limited controls) but operates with considerably improved speed under my applications... a big time saver if you've got a pile of doc's to ... Read More: |

| I bought this printer in approximately 2004. At the time I was simply a college student looking for a reliable printer to churn out papers, homework assignments, and maybe a few photos of my friends and I relaxing on the weekends. I'd had Epsons before and liked them. I also needed a printer that would work with Linux with few hassles. I ended up purchasing this printer.

| It works with no problem, then it stopped working.
The software tells me that it cannot talk to the scanner. It suggests that I unplug and replug the cords, but this does not work, either. I reboot my PC WinXP-Prof and turn on the scanner, the system works again. After this time, the system stopped working with the same message telling me unplug and replug. No matter how I reboot the PC, unplug, turn on turn off, etc, it just saying that it cannot talk to the scanner and I have to unplug then replug again. ... Read More: |

| This scanner, and possibly other Epson(tm) products will not work in CS3. Epson needs to update their drivers; a problem which they refuse accept responsibility for. It works perfectly for anything pre-CS3, but if you plan on upgrading at some point, you may be better off continuing your research. I have also heard reports that it is not just a mac problem, but I can't verify that. |

HOWEVER... it's primary function is as a printer, and unbeknown to me at the time of purchase, Brother printers have a dirty secret, no one will tell you about. Imagine, it's well past midnight, and you are rushing to complete that project or report before leaving for work, or school, first thing in the morning. | This printer worked great for about 3 years. After printing 200 or so pages of picture indexes some of the color jets seemed to be clogged. Then it stopped printing altogether. Diagnostic light flashed amber 7 times followed by green flash = failed print head. Why can't Canon replace this part for about $10? |

| Very good scanner under Windows XP with driver version 5.565 from Microtek Lab website. Though, there's no OS 10.5 Leopard compatible version of the driver to date and have the frustration of having a not fonctionnal scanner with my Mac. I hope that the Leopard driver will come out soon. |
