| I had to return this printer due to the scanner not working since an error message said it couldn't communicate with the PC. Canon's online tech notes, and e-mail support (4 rounds), and a 45-minute phone call did not help. They just had me try different USB ports, uninstall and reinstall the software, and were wary of my 6' USB 2.0 cable, telling me that I needed a 4' gold-plated cable instead. I've never had a USB problem before with any other product.

| I've owned this printer for several years and have been very happy with it. It prints quickly and does a good job. I do not use it to print photos all that much but when I have it does a very good job. The photos are crisp and clear. It does have 5 ink tanks on it that run between $11-$13 a piece. Luckily, they do not all go out at the same time! | Printer has nice features but the paper feeder is TERRIBLE! This thing has never worked well since I purchased it several years ago. I have cleaned the feeder wheels several times and it helps for about 10 pages then farts out again. I often fantasize about throwing this printer off a very high building and watching it smash into a million pieces or running it over with my truck. |

| I bought a Visioneer 7600 USB One Touch scanner and have yet to be able to scan anything! The install goes smoothly or so one thinks. You connect and it appears to be fine. I attempt to scan an image and it only scans a black dark image. I do my leg work and research to find updated drivers and do at the Visioneer support site and the update crashes my computer! I've tried install fixes per other forums and message boards and nothing works. I can install just fine and it LOOKS like it's going to work lovely but still ... Read More: |

| I had had two HP printers. Both broke in the same places - where the paper shoots out from the printer; the wings or the "arms" which guide the paper from the printer - both broke easily.
Also I get an annoying message on my computer that the "yellow box marked !" is on and therefore I have to exit out of the printer mode and reset the yellow box so that the ! is deleted. | Lots of rave reviews about this by now obsolete item. I have it a couple of years, but still I can't escape the feeling that if you walk into a shop in Ireland and say, 'I'll take that one,' you'll end up with a model that's on the way out everywhere else.
Nothing wrong with it as far as it goes: does the job it's asked to do. Just don't buy a new PC with a new OS. I've wasted too much time trying to find a replacement XP driver for this machine, which now effectively has become a piece of junk. Online support is available ... Read More: |

| This is a very good-looking printer; it gives the impression of a solid well-designed product. However after the warranty expired the printer stopped printing. The computer no longer recognizes it.
I tried a new USB cable, a different computer and removing then reinstalling the latest drivers (200 megabytes of bloatware). No luck. And based on what I've read here I'm sure calling tech support will be an exercise in futility. The funny thing is my old HP 932 printer is still chugging away happily. Maybe ... Read More: |

| Its been about a 1 year and half that I have had this printer and I must say I am very displeased. The first few months of this printer was great! It was fast and print quality was excellent, but that didn't last long. After those few months, this printer started to have major problems. First when printing in quick, better, etc the quality was extremely awful. Left streaks everywhere, like I said, even in better quality.
