| Although this lens does not have Nikon's VR - vibration reduction - it is definitely more than worth the price. It is still a Nikon lens - excellent optics and sturdy construction - and with a maximum tele of 55mm, the VR is really not necessary. |

| A very neat and versatile lens. Due to its long range of 81-135mm I was able to take wide angle as well as close ups which gives me a lot of flexibility.

| I was in need of a more powerful lense to compliment my 28-90mm lense when I found this. Though it was realitively inexspensive it surprised me in it's clarity /sharpness. Yes there is a bit of a halo at 300mm but not that bad. The auto focus isn't that great but is just ok. I use manual focus most the time anyway. All in all it is very good for most work and you can't beat the price. It is heavy enough to require a monopod for steadiness to aquire the sharpest shot. | It is big and really not convenient for general use, but when you need wide angle it is fantastic. Very clear and no distortion all the way to the edges. |

| This is a great lens! This is the second copy I now own. Having the fixed aperture allows this lens to focus in low light situations. My wife and I photograph weddings and this is our primary lens that covers most situations using Canon 40D and 50D cameras. |

| I'm completely new to the DSLR world and I've added this lends to my new alpha200 camera. I'm super happy with the results this lens gives me, sharp, noiseless, and strong colors. I don't agree that the zoom takes that long. It's not in millisec, but it doesn't disturb. I'm very happy. |

| So I got this lens today and I wasn't expecting much after reading some of the reviews, but I must say, it is a pretty good lens for its price. This far, I think I really got more than I paid for. I bought it for my Canon 450D (XSi) so I needed the 58mm adapter (which came with the lens, as well as a 52mm adapter) and it just screws on to the 18-55mm lens that my camera came with. It wiggles a little bit, but its not too major. The real hassle is when you take the lens off, you have to take the adapter off as well before putting the cap ... Read More: |

| Just a short note... When I upgraded to a DSLR system from my old-school 35mm, I was used to a nice standard 50mm f1.8. Well, digital doesn't roll quite the same way since you convert all of your factors for us Rebel/40D users. After conversion, this lens offers 56mm measurement, a very close range to my older 35mm SLRs. When I bought this lens and the 50mm f1.4, I barely ever used that 50mm, designed for portraits, and an outstanding job it does.
