| Fast len (f/2.8), sturdy. Like the macro function, you can get really close to the subject. However, this is not a real macro len and do not expect the image qaulity close to the real macro lens. It will give you the opportunity to shoot the subject very close within inchs. It is hard to auto focus at low light and less contrast condition, though. |

| I got this lens for my photography business. I am very excited about not having to change lenses everytime I want to go telephoto. I can grab those precious moments without the bride or groom knowing that I am taking their picture. The one downfall on it is the noise with the autofocusing it is very noisy. The pictures are great though. I have another shoot coming up with horses and people and I think it is going to be fantastic for the shoot. |

| I love, love, love this lens. It makes a great companion to my Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM Standard & Medium Telephoto Lens for Canon SLR Cameras and has come in handy in many situations.
If you're looking for a wider Angle of View, then this lens will provide it. Whether taking landscape shots or tight interior shots, it will perform and deliver outstanding photographs. | This is an adequate lens but the new kit lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS) for the 450D/Rebel XSi sells for $137.80 on its own...and that lens has image stabilization! Looking at the prices for the 400D/Rebel XTi with and without this lens, the price for this lens is around $40-$80.
The folks who are selling this lens at this price must be laughing pretty hard each time they make a sale. |
