| This is a good lens for all around shooting, especially outside. It does well in bright light but blurs badly in low light. With a tripod it does OK but this would not be my recommendation for inside or low light shooting without a flash. However for an all around carry lens at a reasonable price this is great.
the zoom range makes it really nice. |

| I'm not an experienced photographer, but this lense (and my Nikon D40) make me feel like I am!! I love this lense. For the money, it's fabulous!! The only thing that drives me crazy, is that it is manually focused exactly opposite from my old (crummy) lense, but I'm adjusting. |

| I have a canon 70-200 very expensive good lens which is heavy and feel very proud, however I don't use it a lot because it's heavy and can't take short range photos. I only use it for my son and daughter's concert, etc, especially at dark music hall where not allowing to use flash light. My 18-55m kit model with rebel xti 400d is very good, but it can not take far away photos. At beginning, I always took the 70-200 and 18-55 with me. | Certainly there are limitations but this is, after all, an all-in-one. For what it was intended, there is no better lens, certainly none which give you the range, appx. 27-405 on a digital slr. Add exceptional VR, a barrel lock for holding the lens at its shortest length, where it will then stay when you sling it over your shoulder attached to whatever body it's affixed to and it's a no-brainer. |
