| The write on screen is perfect for enhancing Native American rock art pictures on site. Often very faded rock art turns out to be a picture of a rock unless you are on site and can see the faint outlines which you can then mark on the picture. Bet they didn't think of this use!

| This camera is excellent. It's easy to use and allows you to do some fairly impressive and more advanced things in photography. I upgraded to this camera and the clarity in each picture is startling. I can't wait to enlarge my photos to poster size. As you might imagine, I highly recommend this camera to most anyone who wants to do more that point and click even though you can do that quite well with this camera. |

| Purchased this from Amazon almost a month ago. I used it and compared it to a Nikon 5200 and Canon A610, both of which were 5 megapixel. What is shocking is the low quality of the pictures, which on close examination turn out to contain a high amount of digital noise and other signs of poor image processing. The Nikon has noisy images, but the Sony is noticeably worse than even that. The Canon is phenomenal in that area, with no digital noise and excellent shading in dark areas. | Small enough to fit in my pocket, however, after 1 week, the screen got a hairline fracture. Even with the pointer pen, screen easily stores fingerprints. Buttons are hard to push with pointer, and navigating is not easy. The flash is VERY Bright (blinding - the kids no longer enjoy having their picture taken), and I have not figured out how to soften it. | From my experience the sd870 takes great pics in almost all situations. It performs well with the Sandisk Extreme III 8gb card that I purchased with it. The thumb scroll feature has some "cool" factor to it, but I found it a little "finicky" and choose to turn that feature off and access the menu manually which is equally easy. This camera is fairly compact and light, battery life is better than a lot of its peers. It has all the manual adjustments that I prefer, which aren't alot. | I would love to like this camera and have kept it by my side for two weeks trying to find a "happy place" with it. Many valid points in the previous reviews. I am no professional. | easy to use, takes great pictures, in this price range/category you can't do any better..i did a lot of research. I initially did not like the AA battery power source, but like very much now that I found good hybrid rechargeable batteries, though the shutter does lag moreso with this power source. | I ordered an E-520; it was shipped on 11/30 and I received it at lunch on 12/02 by UPS w/free shipping. Can't beat that... (I also found it on a weekend Turkey Day sale for $469.)
