| From my experience the sd870 takes great pics in almost all situations. It performs well with the Sandisk Extreme III 8gb card that I purchased with it. The thumb scroll feature has some "cool" factor to it, but I found it a little "finicky" and choose to turn that feature off and access the menu manually which is equally easy. | I've taken this camera on several vacations. It takes great pictures, even when used by my kids. I got it for them because I'm never in any of our photos. It's easy enough for them to use yet has some more advanced features. Not as good as my Canon Elph, but worth the money. |

| I had an old Kodak 4530 (which I dropped into Lake Michigan)...ooopps! It was still working but was a slow camera. I love the almost instant ready feature on the Z1012. Turn it on and it's ready to go! Also the 3 picture right-after-another feature is great for action shots, (like the dogs running in the surf of Lake Michigan!) (I won't drop this one). | This is a great camera! At 400 ISO and below it takes amazingly detailed pictures without any visable noise even if photos are cropped. The learning curve to use the custom functions is a bit steep, however. It comes with a thick manual and I'm still learning all the functions. I already had a lot of 35mm pentax lenses and its compatiblity with my existing lenses are the main reason I chose this camera over another make. | This is a great camera for someone wanting to get started in professional digital SLR photography. It's going to be a great backup camera for us as well, it does decent in low light and not much issue with noise, though 3200ISO is pretty much unusable due to the high noise, but 1600ISO is quite acceptable if you have to get the shot. | Takes the best pictures I've ever seen on a digital camera. Pictures are sharp and bright. An amazing product. Few drawbacks however as nothing is perfect although this one comes pretty close. Power plug is NOT included with the product; have to purchase that separately. Also, the power button is fairly weak and feels like it could fail any minute. |

Just upgraded from the Coolpix 3100 3mp. Took this on a recent trip and the camera worked wonderfully. I was nervous about a rechargeable battery, but that lasted a little longer than it states. | Buyer beware I ordered this camera based on the reviews however, I found the camera to be less user friendly than the Pentax camera I previously owned. | The write on screen is perfect for enhancing Native American rock art pictures on site. Often very faded rock art turns out to be a picture of a rock unless you are on site and can see the faint outlines which you can then mark on the picture. Bet they didn't think of this use!
