| I was excited when I purchased this camera.. 12 megapixels, optical zoom! I bought it in September 2007. And it was treated so very well..no dropping, no nothing, hardly used it..
In September 2008, it started to freeze and die. Fresh batteries didn't help. Sometimes it turned on, sometimes not. Now it is permanently opened..the lens extended..and it will not turn on. | The PowerShot A590 is very impressive. It has a big bright screen, it does a very good job of figuring out exposure and focus, and it even shoots nice video. Buying the camera with this bundle was convenient but the value is iffy. The camera case is very tight, making it difficult to get the camera in and even more difficult to get it out so I'll be buying a bigger case (probably big enough to also hold the accessories). | Don't make the same mistake I did and buy this camera based on all the "great" reviews here. Most people writing reviews here are amateurs (since only an amateur would buy this camera) and don't realize just how awful this camera's images are. I bought this camera for my sister after insufficient research, only to be shockingly disappointed.

| The camera would not work and then I realized it was because the battery was not charging. When I contacted the seller, they told me the battery did not work and that I had to buy a new one.
Why sell me a camera with a non-functioning battery? They could have simply written in the description that a new battery would need to be bought. I would have never purchased it! |

| Took this beauty across country from Utah to NY State and NH during the Fall color season right after it was released from Panasonic to this country... amazing camera!
All external buttons are quick and strategically placed... still have not used manual control much AND I always shoot in RAW PLUS LO-JPEG with a 16 gig sdhc class 6, "standard" speed memory. I have owned the Sony T100 and T300 (10.1MP) and was never happy with the image quality of either. I purchased and then gave this T500 away, because I was not happy with the larger size and the image quality of both indoor and outdoor images. Images which seem to be, less impressive than the 8MP T100 I had. I use Sony Vaio notebooks and love most Sony products, but Sony digital cameras, just don't perform well, compared to Canon.
