| This is an excellent camera. It is so easy to use. The captured video does not capture ghost movements, if you move the camera quickly to record. I bought one for myself, and one for my 6 year old granddaughter. She was able to master the controls, and record 48 personal videos. The playback on the TV was excellent. The resolution was superb. 1. It's a Sony! (Brand value). 2. Compact and light-weight. 3. Carl Zeiss lens. 4. hard disk memory, easy to transfer to computer. 5. I got the refurbished one from sonystyle.com for 300 bucks. Thats pretty cheap for a 40x zoom HDD camcorder from sony. 6. Motion picture quality is good. Demerits: 1. Does not have a view finder. 2. | In the description of this item on the Amazon product page for the camera, it states it can work on a memory card of up to 4 GB. Thats not true. The max is only 2 GB. It was stated in the User Manuel for the camera and there was a card error when you try to format. Also, if you insert a card larger than 2 GBs, anything you record will go directly to the camera's internal memory of 15 MBs. So this is a great camera, great for little things, but nothing High Def. |

| The Panasonic PV-GS80 is a good low end Camcorder, But it's big brother PV-GS85 is a much better buy. You can take pic's and save them on a SD card, It has more features than the 80. Don't buy the 80, buy the 85 |

| As much as I love the appearance, build quality, size and comfort of this unit, I can not give it 5 stars. The only issues that bug me are first and foremost the suckie software. I even tried "Ulead Video 11" after trying over and over to work with the stock software. Unlead (despite what they say) is far too complicated, cumbersome and in many ways not compatible. Further, I hate using the dock to connect to my lap top.
