| Video quality is awesome in daylight. It is not that good in low light conditions, but 1- it is quite normal, 2- you cannot expect such a compact cam to behave like a $10,000 one.
One thing I dislike is that you cannot have 2 different image ratio settings for pictures and videos at the same time. Meaning once you switch to 16/9 you also shoot pictures in this mode. |

| Camera works ok, although no bells and whistles. The add made no mention of needing corner store disposible non-recharging batteries, which was somewhat subjective since most would assume a video camera would have electric plug and or rechargeable batteries. Good gift for a small child only. |

| Recently purchased this camera before leaving to meet our Italian relatives for the first time in Italy. What a nightmare! The camera would not, no way, initialize the discs that were recommended for purchase with the camera. Very disappointed not to have had a video memento of a trip we had planned for many years. | I 've read a lot of reviews before purchasing this camcorder. Excellent video in sun light, even overall it 's a little bit yellowish to my taste. Amazon is best price, and they refund me the difference when the price went lower in within 30 days after purchase.
Low light is OK. and I found it better than the JVC HD camcorder that my brother has. Extremely low light is not acceptable. I do not have time to test the 5.1 audio on my NAD receiver. Insert the SD card ... Read More: |

| Great Camcorder. Easy to use with wonderful picture quality as well. The only thing I have a problem with is the editing software. I have no problems transferring directly to a DVD but if I want to edit and then write it to a DVD, I have problems playing the DVD. Otherwise, a great camcorder. |

| Got two of these last christmas for my kids. Ended up paying around $50 each with discounts I had. For my kids age 8 and 14 these have been great. They love to make stop motion movies. It was well worth the money. And they've used them almost everday since christmas.Only had one problem and that was a knob fell off after my son dropped his but it still works. They may drop the price on them like they did last christmas, if they do snap one up for your kid. |

| For all you Mac and Quicktime lovers out there: BEWARE! This camera creates a different type of file that cannot be read by Quicktime. What's worse is the JVC offers no software for Macs or any sort of converter program. Wow, you pay $500 for a cam from a multi-billion dollar company like JVC and they don't bother to help you!!!
Fortunately there is a free program called "MPEG Steamclip" that can export the files to something Quicktime will understand, however very time consuming. |

At roughly 1/2 to 1/3rd the price of the Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (White), it seemed to be worth the risk of buying it as a backup pocket camcorder. Here are my observations:
