| I bought this camera about 15 days back. I have used it a couple of times indoors, outdoors and indoors with low-light conditions.
Used correctly, this camera does a great job of taking good quality images. I had to play with the camera for about 15-20 mins to get familiar with it so I could take the best pictures possible. | I love, love, love this lens. It's a bit long so it's not ideal for a walk around lens...but MAN, oh man does it capture some amazing shots. I first tried it out on a windy day at the lake with my nieces and nephews and caught some absolutely amazing shots. The clarity of the images even at full zoom is incredible, and don't even get me started on the bokeh! It is just a wonderful lens...now if Canon would only make it a bit more squat, it would be perfect!! |

| I ordered this case based on other reviews on Amazon which said it fits the SD1100IS. While the camera fits in the case, it's just SLIGHTLY too big. The front flap of the case has a little magnet to hold it closed but, because the camera is too big, the flap won't stay closed--it pops open in a doofy-looking fashion. I'm sending it back.... |

| First off, two things you should be aware of before you buy this camera. One, if you don't have a firewire port, or don't intend on getting one for your computer (fireware cards aren't difficult to install and are fairly cheap), DO NOT buy this camera. Since most cameras record on harddrives nowadays anyways, this camera is definitely a little dated. | Excellent lens for portraits and performs at the level of an L lens, but without the cost of an L. You get a really attractive bokeh on the wide end of the aperature, and images have good color and contrast. This lens is a great value for the money, you won't be disappointed. |

A little disappointed so far. The lens creep is more like a lens drop! The outside shots are very good for the most part (how much is me or the lens!) I have some beautiful shots of weddings and outdoor events on bright days, but hit and miss indoors. Autofocus not quick indoors and I had expected more from the IS feature. | I bought this lens as a replacement for the kit lens (28-135 3.5-5.6) whereas the kit lens was very soft at the edges, this lens is crystal clear. I use it as my walk-around lens. With it's good wide angle and fast f2.8 low light capability this lens is one I can count on for most situatuions. |
