| GREAT CAMERA!! THE PICTURE IS OUTSTANDING!! ONE DISAPPOINTMENT IS THAT THE CAMERA IS NOT EQUIPMENT WITH A "HDMI" CABLE CONNECTION. FOR THE PRICE I WAS SURE THAT IT WOULD HAVE THAT CONNECTION.
BUT OVERALL, I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE CAMERA. 99% OF MY SHOOTING IS OUTSIDE OF ACTIVE RAILROAD OPERATIONS. FAST MOVING TRAINS, ETC. ASO I SHOOT FIREFIGHTING SCENES FOR MY FIRE DEPT. ONCE AGAIN, OUTSTANDING CAMERA!! |

| We needed another camcorder didn't really want a HD because of the problems of no software out there to create HDDVDs. We bought this because our other sony is 10yrs old and didn't want to buy what we had. We are very glad we did. Even regular tapes look stellar in the 1080i format. The 20x zoom is to drool over. It is wonderful we use it for birding only now they are moving. All the techie stuff should come from my husband, but I am writing this so you won't hear it from me. | Purchase new VX-2100 in September 2008 & did so based on the fact I have had a Sony VX-2000 for 5 years. The VX-2000 has a clear eye viewer and the VX-2100 reminds me of looking through a plastic toy microscope. Still has all the good quality of VX-2000 but, a very cheap eye piece. |

| Bought the camera sight unseen, which was a mistake. I shoot in a lot of low light situations, which this camera DOES NOT do well in (my old digital 8 camera blows this away). I've had to boost to hyper gain which is an extremely grainy picture. |

| This camcorder never ceases to amaze me.
It is relatively easy to use right out of the box, and the menu system does take some time to get familiar with (which in and of itself is not a complaint). I don't need XLR input as I run everything through a small studio mixer straight into the 3.5mm input. I wish I could adapt the camcorder to use 6x6 filters though (not that I am pitching Colkin filters). But, I do use 43mm glass filters which is fine (mostly as warming filter and a polarizing) .....
