| This is my first SanDisk drive after buying only Lexar for the longest time, but I couldn't seem to find a good cheap Lexar drive after I bought a new Vista laptop to try out ReadyBoost with. This one happened to be nice and cheap, so I bought it and overall I've found it to work well with the feature and as a flash drive.

| Well I bought this drive after the Lacie I had originally bought kept getting I/O errors when used on an iMac with Time Machine. I repartitioned the drive twice and also did a disk test which all came out fine, but after approx 5 days of use each time the Lacie would hang. I suspected a "sleep" issue since the I/O errors always coincided with it sleeping.

| I plugged it into the USB port on my laptop and it was ready to go. My primary use is to consolidate and backup data from multiple computers and this has plenty of room for music and photos.
This is an excellent value considering I just paid $75 for a 16gig scan disk. It is well built and doesn't have a very large desktop footprint. This drive is a little to large to lug around every day so I wouldn't consider it portable, but other drives fill that role. |
