| Just bought and set this up today, replacing a very similar 3-yr-old Canon that worked well, but had just developed print-head problems. Set up was easy, but I had to run set-up twice because it stopped when it encountered the old version of ScanSoft OmniPage - I had to remove that program manually, then start over (and the second time took longer, about a half-hour for the second un-install and re-install). | The price for this product seems like a good deal at first glance. However, when you go to check out you will discover that you are charged $4.99 shipping for each cartridge ordered. When you add that hidden $5.00 to the price you still save A LITTLE compared to Staples, but if you are able to get to SAMS or probably any other wholesale club you will find the price comparable, and you don't have to wait for the product to be delivered. | Title pretty much sums it up. It is too large. And it does take a little while to load up after turning it on. Everything else works really well though. And the features are very nice. |

| This product works as advertized and produces clear labels that stick well to everything I've tried, including flexible cases for electronics.
One difficulty: the distance from the print head to the tear-off point is long enough that you can't produce labels with narrow margins without cutting the tape by hand. | My last HP pringer 1610 was a workhorse that finally had to be put out to pasture after 2-3 years. I upgraded to the PH C4280 and knew in a couple of days I had made a BIG MISTAKE.
Software installed fine on vista. Then the trouble began. It did not want to pick paper up out of the tray and then kept triple feeding high quality paper. | I teach a counseling skills course at a local community college, and needed this for the students to turn in an audio recording of an interview. Not all students are into the digital realities of today, so this analog tape recorder did the trick.
I gave it three stars, 'cause it only runs on batteries ... there's no where to plug in an A/C adaptor (my preference). If ya gotta go tape, this unit is alright. |
