| I know tribute albums are a dime a dozen these days, and most of them are just not worth it, but every once in a while you come across a real winner. Holy Dio is perhaps the best tribute album ever. | I am a sick, sick Conception fan, evidenced by the fact that I paid an insane amount of money just to get the five Conception songs on this disc. Hearing Conception live just affirms their stature as one of my favorite bands. Vocalist Khan doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd be powerful in the live forum, but he rocks. All of these overt metal tracks are from the band's CD, Parallel Minds, which rocks, although the studio versions seem tepid in comparison to the awesome live ones. I know nothing ... Read More: |

| This particular CD came out four years after A Tribute to Judas Priest: Legends of Metal Volumes 1 and 2. Since the title of the CD is Vol. 2, Delivering the Goods I assumed there was a Vol. 1. I asked Century Media via e-mail if there was a Vol. 1 and they told me this one is just the US version of Vol. 2, Legends of Metal. The only song on it that isn't on Legends of Metal volumes 1 or 2 is Desert Plains covered by Iron Savior, which they did extremely well by the way. That song is a particular ... Read More: |
