| At first Listen this album can seem cluttered and invasive, however after a while you can see the focus... with this vision the tracks successfully blend and create a listening experience like no other. This is something you come to expect from Pharell and he doesn't disappoint. I definitely admit it may be hard to digest, but after a few listens the driving beats and melodic vocal riffs stand out with shay's rapping. a good listen for anyone who loves music in general. |

| "Sellout" is a word that I don't care to use very much anymore for several reasons. It has been used ludicrously in such situations as Bob Dylan switching from acoustic to electric guitars. Or when the overwhelmingly awesome metal band Mastodon had one of their songs played on one of Tony Hawk's video games. | Kardinal Offishall is a cat that is kind of sporadic with the releases but, once he drops, he usually comes with some pretty solid material. That was before he linked up with the over-hyped, over-saturated, pop sensation (?)/cheesy tune machine known as Akon. | Black Star is a great album for many reasons, but to me, they're all personal and unique to myself. I think the "best" music is the music that moves you. Blackstar reminds me of growing up, stirring up memories of walking around in the city with my dad. Most albums simply can't do that for you nowadays. Mos Def's flow is tight, Kweli's lyrics are deep, Hi-Tek is well, Hi-Tek. Definition, RE:Definition are obviously the big songs on this album. | A great mixtape which mixes Hip Hop, Dub, Bashment (which I usually don't like, this mixtape has literally changed my mind on it) Electronica, Reggae, Rock...all blended into remixes as well as songs. It's a must buy, really.
