| These are not really the traditional arrangements you may be expecting. I have really enjoyed this album over the last couple of Christmas seasons. It is a great CD to have playing in the background while you are entertaining guests or enjoying other holiday activities. It's a great stand alone album for when you want to get lost in the music but also works well for ambiance when you don't want the music to be the main point of focus. | Never really cared for Mike Oldfield's previous works, I enjoyed Tubular Bells the song but not the Tubular Bells album. I own "The Best of" album but wasn't really inspired enough by that to purchase any of his other albums. So when I purchased "Music of the Spheres" I felt I was taking a real chance and might not enjoy it - fortunately I was wrong. Strong melodies are supported by orchestra and choir. | I bought this CD based on the reviews and it was everything everyone said it was. I have older children that are in college and want the CD because when they listen to it with their brother, it's so relaxing. If you want gentle background music to lull your child to sleep, this is it. If you want to destress with soothing music, this is it. Excellent. |

| Yes the majority of the music is on other works and the company should have informed the consumer. I do however like having all the great music pieces on one cd. Now you don't have to fish around your collection to play the tracks that you like. All the tracks are great. If your a Solstice fan like i am you'll love it. I do believe that there are some tracks that were not on any of the other cds. Great Christmas / holiday music. There are no vocals on this cd yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Just bought this CD a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed listening to it because there's something different about these music compared to contemporary ones. Although obviously they are very modern, you can say Moby's technique of utilizing notes harks back to medieval times. The prolongation of some notes (which are hypnotizing) resembles those of the chants used in religious services. The transitions can be compared to majority of the classical/baroque music. And who could miss the vocals that resemble arias? |

| This is a perfect collection for the holidays, or any occasion. I have the complete Winter Solstice set, and lost the first album in a divorce. This seems to be out of print, but found a like new, perfect one on Amazon. I would highly recommend these for anyone who likes to sit and comfortably relax to soothing music. Steve |

| Ok, I know I'm not a professional reviewer, but I do know good techno and dance music! This album is actually rather excellent in my opinion. First, Ultra stuck with the double disc which I give them kudos for. Second, few songs are either mediocre or terrible. Licky (Work it Out) is probably the worst song on the album. Other than that, all songs have some good in them, and even though 3 of the songs are on both Thrivemix 5 and Ultra 2009, both compilations are excellent and have their own positive points.
