| I have owned this previously through Time Life (some of you know what can happen when you are moving) and so I wanted to purchase it again and did when I found it here on Amazon. These are priceless original Christmas songs by the original artists and the sounds are simply superb! This is a must have for those who want to remember old traditions and for those who want to make new ones. |

| My son at 5 declared that nobody sings Jingle Bells like Ella Fitzgerald. This cd was a must for us. Bing certainly popularized Christmas music and the crooners backed it up, but Ella gives Christmas style. |

| I liked "Cryptograms" PIL-type assaults better than its bliss-out comedown tracks. This new CD may, therefore, please listeners who favor the softer side, akin more to Bradford Cox's solo project Atlas Sound. Since I love shoegazing, "Microcastles" satisfied me especially in its later tracks on disc one. | I first heard this album back in 1980 at my aunt and uncle's house when I was only 10 years old. I remember enjoying this album every time I visited them. When it became available on CD in 1990 I jumped at the chance to purchase it. To this day, it is still one of my favorite Christmas albums and one I enjoy every Christmas season.

| Bought this for my husband, but have to tell ya, that Jim is hilarious. I was laughing almost throughout this c.d. His, "Hot Pockets" skit alone is worth the price of the c.d. I also enjoyed how he does his, "what the audience is thinking" part ( he says what he thinks some mild mannered librarian/granny/whomever is thinking when he does his comedy act ). If you're not a fan, it may be better to rent this ( go to the library, for 50 cents you can hear it ), but if you're a fan, you will laugh again and again. ... Read More: |

| I grew up with this album on the record player and loved it as much during childhood as I do today as an adult. It's funny but when I listen to the CD I still remember where things would skip on the record version.
Christmas just ain't Christmas without Johnny Mathis, especially this album! |

| This is what introduced me to Sufjan (and I have never been the same!). My mother, who is in her mid 50s, loves this set. I secretly look forward to Thanksgiving because I can put the album in my cd player for the next couple of months...and we play it while we're taking our tree down so we can enjoy it one last time before putting Christmas stuff up. | I saw a review in an audio magazine, and bought it because of the good
rating they gave it---It is a little too modern for me---I like straight ahead jazz, and I went through the bop era, but did not like it then either. If you like more modern jazz, you might like the CD----the DVD that comes with it is just watching the preparation of the CD in a studio and they just turned on a camera and paid no attention to levels or anything else.
