| I thought the Big Phat Band had previously set the standard too high to even match their previous releases, I was wrong!. The latest effort is an amazing demonstration of perfect balance and outstanding performance from the best band in the USA (perhaps the world). As an old brass player I am continually gob smacked at their performances, track 9, which features the trumpet section is awesome. Big Band fans will just love this release.

| I considered Hargrove's album "The Vibe" to be his best for a long time. He has exceeded that set with this masterwork. The last song does not really fit with the rest, but that does not matter. The sonic quality of this recording is also a cut above most anything I have ever heard. Each instrument is so distinct and clear. More importantly, the music grooves. |

| I'll keep this short. I've got a lot of Miles' Cds and this is probably the one I listen to the most. All the songs are great on it and I love Coltrane's work on this one too. I agree with others that say this is their favorite quintet. Not to negate what the future Davis groupings were but this one definitely had something that could not be replicated. A well balanced unoffensive classic jazz album. Recommended for Jazz pros and Jazz newbies alike. Soulful |

| Matt Belsante's Christmas album borrows heavily from some classic arrangements from the past - notably Ella Fitzgerald's wonderfully dizzy take on Sleigh Ride - which serves the album well. It has a classic-fresh feel, much like recordings by Michael Buble. Energetic and youthful, Matt's vocals tend to slide and bend a bit too stylistically, sometimes pulling focus from the wonderful lyrics and melodies, but it's a minor quibble. The album is the subject of two books and any Miles Davis bio worth picking up devotes several pages to it's development and musical importance. The record is known for its simplicity and improvisation, as the sextet of jazz masters use a minimum amount of chords to create a mood that's profound, yet accessible. The original album consists of five tracks recorded in two days. Now, a half a century after its creation, there's a lot more.

| I was in a restaurant that was playing Tony Bennett music and I couldn't figure out
who he was singing with but I loved the song - (George Michael "How do you keep the music playing?") I googled it and saw it was from this CD that I had never heard of. Ordered it and I do like it a lot. The George Michael song is my favorite. Love the duet with Michael Buble and the Dixie Chicks.
