| It always surprises me that this very special Christmas album from The Manhattan Transfer doesn't show up on everyone's list of must have holiday music. Like snowflakes drifting by a frosty windowpane, there is something very wistful and melancholy about this labor of love from Alan Paul, Janis Siegal, Tim Hauser, and Cheryl Bentyne. And there is some fun mixed in as well, the trademark 1930's and 1940's elegance of this fabulous group on glorious display.

| If she lives long enough and keeps developing her craft, Amy will rank among the great female vocalists of all time: Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. On this album she manages to rise above some horrendous arrangements and tedious percussion (is it human or machine-made?) on "Round Midnight" and "Moody's Mood for Love" and others. | Decades ago, I purchased this Christmas Album when I was in college and misplaced it. Recently, I got another copy from Amazon. This album is one of the best Christmas albums ever. The vocals of each song were so meticulously arranged that reminded us how great the MT were, at the top of their game in the eighties. The music is ethereal and the album is ageless. |

| I am a huge fan of the Rat Pack. Let me say that this CD isnt as good as the one that was recorded Live at the Sands. Maybe because Ive heard the routines a million times. Dont get me wrong, I'm glad I bought it. The reason to buy this is the DVD. If you're a fan of the Rat Pack you need to have this in your collection. |

| There are not many CD's that my husband and I both enjoy, but this is one of the few. My husband loves Funk and I love Smooth Jazz, and I found this CD to be a unique combination of the two. We loved the guest appearances of Funk legends, especially Boosy Collins, and we would definitely recommend this compilation to our friends or even give as a gift during the holidays. But word to the wise, if you don't like Funk, don't buy anything with Funk in the title. Yaba dabba doo baby! |
