| I must admit I never thought I'd but a Queen Latifah cd. Her earlier music was not to my taste and I really wasn't overwhelmed by her performance in CHICAGO. Then I saw her sing the song from HAIRSPRAY on tv and I was blown away. I quickly went to Amazon and ordered her latest - TRAV'LIN' LIGHT. Am I ever so glad I did. This cd was nominated for a grammy and I certainly understand why. There is not a miss out of all the 13 tracks. She tackles true classics from many different decades of varying styles ... | This disc is packed with some of the greatest hits of the big band era (great set list) but the collection's title ("The Only Big Band CD You'll Ever Need") is terribly insulting. Why assume that, after hearing killer-diller tunes like these, that modern listeners wouldn't want to dig deeper and discover more music in this rich, rewarding vein? | it is such a treat to hear anything by Milton that i must admit to a large amount of bias. of course, he's not the Milton of decades ago but he's still the best to me and my favorite. he has no equal in my book. there are some small technical flaws in my cd that may however not occur in other copies. |

| With all due respect to the people involved with the production of this 2000 Sony release (Didier C. Deutsch, Darcy M. Proper, Danny Bennett and Steve Berkowitz), not to mention Tony himself, it's really quite impossible to come with a definitive single 20-track CD "ultimate" compilation for a man who racked up some 67 hit singles from his first in 1951 (Because Of You - # 1 for TEN weeks that summer) to his last in 1976 (As Time Goes By - # 28 Adult Contemporary early that spring).
