| I'm really baffled by the great reviews of this record. Williams' voice is horrible. It's not that her voice is unpolished; Dylan, Steve Earle, and many others pull off less than perfect voices by the strength of their delivery. Williams tries too hard to sound soulful, ending up sounding desperate, grating. The melodies are flat and uninteresting, and the lyrics are uninspired. Skip this and pick up a Steve Earle, or Blue Rodeo CD for some great "American" music. |

| Beautiful, amazing CD that would bring anyone to their knees. Deep and poetic. My favorite is and always will be "Blower's Daughter". Definitely his best CD of them all so far. |

| This cd/DVD set of Loreena McKennitt's performance in the beautiful and mystical Alhambra is indeed very special for her fans as well as newcomers to her enchanting voice and unusual instruments. Applause time is minimal with more time for the music, which is clear and lovely. The DVD and optional commentary in which she speaks of the history of the Alhambra is educational as well as beautiful. Thanks to Loreena McKennitt for this special performance.

| ...it is the best album of any genre -- period. Each track has a gravity and sincerity to it that is unique, particularly in today's musical climate. There is also a theological depth to some of the songs that, again, is altogether unique, especially in a world where songs that are (ostensibly at least) about the birth of the Son of God treat the occasion with anything but the reverence it/He deserves. | I bought this cd for my 6 month old son. He just smiled and smiled when we listened to the clip of You are my sunshine. I enjoy it on our car rides very much! Some of the songs I remember loving and growing up with from Sesame Street, and Schoolhouse Rock. |

| After the Hard and the Easy and a very welcome return to the salt, sea and shores of Newfoundland found in those playful and traditional style songs by the greatest band on earth, I was a little put off by my first few listens to this newest effort.
