| Pavarotti is in his prime for this one and the selections are both touching and grand. Mille Cherubini, a tender lullaby, is my favorite but his Agnus Dei is rich and grand. The choral backgrounds are also very good. I bought the cassette when it came out in the 70's and I am thrilled that they reissued it as CD to grace my 2007 Christmas . |

| I have numerous Christmas CDs but find myself listening to this one most often. Both groups are superb, both individually and when they sing together. Some of the carols are so beautiful they can bring you to tears. |

| This is just beautiful music--very melodious and evocative. Yo-Yo Ma is a consummate musician. Wonderful compositions like Morricone's in his hands is a delight to the ears and emotions. I highly recommend this CD. |

| As with the first Christmas CD that I reviewed, which technically goes hand in hand with this particular Christmas CD (originally they were sold as a set), I must say that this one is just as amazing as the other one. As I said, these are the original songs by the original artists and the sounds are top notch. Burl Ives was a local son from my hometown area and many of us will remember him as "Sam the Snowman" in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and there are many other wonderful singers on the CD from years past.
