| You simply cannot go wrong with this wonderful collection from a disciplined and masterfully-led chorus. If you want to hear Christmas choral standards in all their glory, no disappointment here - beautiful men's chorus version (original) of Beibl's Ave Maria, and the treble voices also get play in the Ceremony of Carols. |

| I returned this item for an exchange, since many of the pages were printed upside down, on 5/27 after following the directions for a return/replacement. It is now 7/09 and I am still waiting for a replacement. I have written twice to the dealer as well as to Amazon including one yesterday. I am tired of reviewing and would like very much for my son to to begin playing Bach. If anyone who actually reads this is in a position to make that happen!

| I haven't been enthusiastic about this ensemble of women singers, Trio Mediaeval, on their previous CDs, singing potpourris of chant and polyphony. Their voices are more individually interesting than those of the better-known Anonymous Four, but they've 'schmalzed' up the reverb and used other little gimmicks to trick themselves out as 'spiritual-sounding.' | I bought this four years ago when it was first released and didn't like it. I only listened to it once back then - I think I was expecting another Eden or La Luna. I put this cd in my player last month and fell in love with it. This is my favorite Sarah Brightman cd. I actually love it more than Eden and La Luna (both were extremely good). | I've never been paying attention to her, but after I borrowed her La Luna CD from public library, and listened to one of her songs from this album This Love becomes one of my greatest songs all times. Now, surely I like her, and I cannot wait for her Christmas album. Her Scarborough Fair..........is so wonderful. |

| In the best parts of these performances - those mentioned by Tom Lawrence, but I would definitely add to his list "Where shall I fly" - Lorraine's flame burns fully as intensely and penetratingly as on her great Handel recording with Harry Bicket.
(In case anyone still doesn't know, Lorraine's two recordings with William Christie are at that level, too.) Hard to find words for Lorraine. No wonder she made her husband think of Rilke: Words still softly give way before the unsayable ... Read More: |
