| If you a piano student, your teacher will probably assign you at least half of the compositions in this CD. You need to hear how they should be played. This is a wonderful CD to use to help you learn the pieces. These piano selections are not the "World's Favorites" for nothing - they are memorable and enjoyable for young and old alike. I love this CD. |

| When you compare Freni with the light roles that she used to sing in the 60s and this Freni, you will think they are two different singers. But what is truly amazed is the fact that not only her voice changed, but she became bar none to one the hardest heavy lyric soprano roles ever: Mimi. | Again, breaking my rule against reviewing CDs, for music that is truly exceptional. This is the CD that I play most often, outstripping #2 (Verdi's "Don Carlos", if you must know) by a factor of three to one. Lauridsen has been compared to influences ranging from Brahms to Arvo Pärt - he is surely the preeminent American composer of choral music working today.
