| I am a late-comer to this album, and appear to be a dissenting voice, alas. I found this album dull, the biggest problems being that the arrangements have no sparkle (maybe they were meant to capture that lush, and--dare I say--bloated 1950's sound) and the singers (with the exception of Karen Morrow) have no personality. | This is an incredibly beautiful album. His passion shines forth in each piece and draws the listener in. If you wish to sit back and be swepted away to a place of pure joy, this is the CD for you. |

| I will admit to having some doubts about this performance before viewing it. First, several years ago, I gave a glowing review to the DVD and CD of the performance under Solti, finding Angela Gheorghiu to be the definitive Violetta. Second, I have been less than satisfied with some of Renee Fleming's recent performances on CD, finding them to be mannered and self-indulgent. Well, all my misgivings were rendered unwarranted. | There's not much more I can add to the glowing reviews of this CD except to say that I'm surprised that "A un nino llorando" doesn't get a mention! It became my favorite on the album, even though the rest are excellent also.
"A Christmas Carol" is quite serene and nice, as well as "A Virgin Unspotted". Perfect! These guys are the musical male answer to Anonymous 4. |

| This was the first time I had heard the Libera group as I was sent the CD as a gift. To begin with I really didn't care for some of the music - remember I hadn't heard this style of choral singing before and it took a bit of getting used to, but I sat down on Saturday and listened right through and by the time it was finished I was hooked. I loved the setting of Bach's Air on a G String in particular, and then right at the end the performances of Blake's Little Lamb and the In Paradisum are exquisite. | Perhaps it is the romantic in me that enervates a sense of anticipation when superlative musicians take up period instruments to play great master's works in the manner in which they were written.
In this case I believe that also means enjoying the work with a slightly faster Tempi than accustomed. Beautiful music making for beautiful space. |

| This is a great CD to listen to after a stressfull day at work. Debussy was an impressionist musician, or that's what they called him during his life. Most people don't know that there were impressionists that were not painters, so this classical musician is a breath of fresh air even for those that do not like classical music. |

| This was supposed to be a magnificent return of Aida to La Scala. It is very disappointing. The singers and their signing and acting are OK, but far away of being magnificent. The sound of the Disc is certainly not portraying the incredible amount of people on the stage, in Act II in particular. Bluray technology allows for a much fuller sound. The worst of all is the video production and camera movements. The close-ups in the middle of the arias and the ballet make no sense at all and are really disturbing.
