| Althought the OBC is the definitive recording of this musical, and although the 1999 T.V. production with Victor Garber and Audra Macdonald is a far better adaptation of the show, this 1982 soundtrack is a delight in its own right. The main reason to buy this album is because of the cast: Carol Burnett, Albert Finney, Anne Reinking, Bernadette Peters, Tim Curry, and Aileen Quinn as the title character. | This series of Christmas CD's are absolutely wonderful. There are 2 CD's in this package (also in the previous versions - #1 & #2) and they encompass both older artists and newer artists.
What I find so great is that I have been able to get rid of my old vinyl albums in exchange for these CD's - a win-win situation as far as freeing up space and time. | I absolutly loved this cd. The way it's put together and the music is so much like Burt Barcharch was doing this himself. I love the collection of songs he chose for this cd they to me are the ones that stand out the most when I think of Burt Barcharch music. I listen to this many times in a day at work. It's the perfect music to work by and enjoy the soft sounds in the back round of the music.I reccomend this to any Barcharch admirers. |

| Energetic and catchy original songs from composer Jason Robert Brown and the performances by the all teen cast and band are first rate ! So much more enjoyable than the recycled pop hits that make up the score of many new musicals and the lyrics,too are clever and touching.
By the way ,the rhyme mentioned in a previous review is "exotic/ neurotic" not "erotic" and I do believe most 13 olds know those words and many more ! |
