| Most people my age have never heard of this truly wonderful composition. This opened at the Martin Beck Theatre in November of 1987 and was a success lasting for 2 years. | Songs like 'Pure Imagination' and the 'Oompa Loompa song' are songs that I don't think you'd forget at once but when you've got the cd to go with the movie you can then play them as often or as little as you want but I love hearing Gene Wilder's voice as the guy with a pure imagination and then watching how he opened up his doors to the public and just love hearing the music and words of the other songs too. |

| I adore Les Mis, and the OBC is a nice recording of it. It comes up a little bit short when compared to the OLC, however; Colm Wilkinson and Frances Ruffelle are on both recordings, but they are much stronger on the OLC.
Michael Maguire is a clear advantage, in my opinion, over David Burt as Enjolras, but the favorable comparison ends after that.
