| I am amazed that this cost so little, but was SOOOOO good. Sonnny Boy II is (IMHO) the better of the Sonny Boys. A lot of people will justifiably rave about his skill on the harp, but do not let that distract you from his vocals. This performer has a tremendous voice.

| Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's posthumous album, The Sky Is Crying, is a rarity in the fact that the outtakes here are of the same high quality of the rest of the band's albums. It's big on the blues cover tunes (all of their albums had a few) but the strong performances show an embracing of the blues rather than just a retread. | For all those pursuing deep blues this is essential listening. Sound quality is excellent. Guitar playing is rough and ready by modern technical standards, but hey - that's the way it is - all feel. Vocals are stunning. Great to hear his homage to Patton's 'Moon going down' -'Empire State Express'. This is your chance to hear real deep delta blues sans the crappy dynamics of 78RPM recordings. If only more of the old Delta players had survived long enough to be able to be re-recorded with such quality. |

He was poisoned, presumably by a houseman/barkeep whose wife had been flirting with him on an August Evening. | This is recognized by all as one of the classic blues albums of all time, probably the best Chicago blues album ever recorded. It is just about perfect. In saying that, I do not minimize the work of Howling Wolf or Muddy Waters who did their best recordings as singles. But,if you only are going to have 10 blues cds in your collection, this is a must have. Listen to these vocals with their honest emotion, appreciate this songwriting, the perfect guitar work and you will have a standard to measure all blues music by, particularly blues in the Chicago style. ... | On "You And Me" Joe moves back into blues territory albeit a mix of electric blues and classic rock that had it's hey day back in the late 60's and early 70's. Comparisons to bands of the era like Cream, Ten Years After, or Robin Trower would be appropriate. In fact Bonamassa does an absolutely scorching cover of Led Zeppelin's "Tea For One" that in many ways rivals the original. "You And Me" is a mix of blues covers and originals. | I was referred to this soundtrack by a friend who knew I was looking for obscure, old-timey American music. Though I'm not a fan of "Deadwood", some of the music was quite fetching. Also included on this soundtrack are sound clips from the series which, while they are quite vulgar, are also very humorous to me, even out of context. I'm sure "Deadwood" enthusiasts would love this album, and fans of old-timey American music should be satisfied as well. |
