| Until I had listened to them for a while, some of my all-time favorite albums were initially disappointing. Way to Normal is turning out to be one of those albums.
A somewhat recent convert to Ben Folds (with the Five and otherwise), I have come to appreciate his gifts for melody and storytelling. And these gifts continue to be apparent on Way to Normal. | This is my favorite of all of Fall Out Boy's music. The songs are great, and I just love it. I've loved it for about 3 years, and it isn't dying off, so that says something, huh? I got it after "From under the cork tree" came out, and I was not disappointed. |

| "In Between Dreams" is a wonderful assortment of music. Mostly consisting of heartfelt and feel good songs; such as: Better Together, Banana Pancakes, No Other Way, Constellations. Unto more upbeat rhythmic tracks: Sitting Waiting Wishing, Breakdown, Staple It Together. Even touching on the more political/societal themes in: Never Know, Good People, and Crying Shame.

| Call me a chump, but with the exception of Storytelling, I put everything that B&S has put out (all the E.P. releases too) on the highest ebb of all musical performances, with an emphasis on their earlier work from the 90's. I think a real turning point for this band's sound happened with the release of Dear Catastrophe Waitress. Isobel Campbell, the female accompanying vocalist and part time writer for the band has her last appearance in a few songs on that album. She leaves later, forever changing the sound of the band. ...
