| Okay, so I have every album Nickelback has ever done and I've loved them from the beginning. First I want to know why everyone is so brutal about artists changing direction with their content and sound. I thought it was about expression, no? | This is as generic and bland as rock music can get. This CD is immensely boring. This album basically embodies all the stereotypical radio rock elements you can image.
If you want the monotonous truck-commercial sounding riffs and awful wannabe-Pearl Jam sounding vocals, you have it all in this album. There's honestly A LOT a band can do with 2 guitars, bass and drums. What drives a band to produce a CD of music which seriously sounds like it was made specifically for the radio? Probably ... | I don't want to turn you off this CD just because of the sound (and I am sure the Linkin Park fanatics will not care anyway), but I'd like to know who engineered and mixed this live album and have a talk with them. Not only is the whole thing mixed EXTREMLY bass heavy, but as soon as I turn it up, I start to get distortion (unless I really fiddle with the equalizer on my stereo---which I should NOT have to do). | Right when I heard Dave Fortman was going to help produce this album I got the shakes. I didn't want my precious metal funk band Mudvayne turn into a mainstream rock band...oh well, they did. Let's look on the brightside:
Now hear this, as an album, I love it. But as for individual songs, not so much. The instrumentals are pretty awesome throughout the entire CD.
