| I have other Il Divo cd's and with all the appearances and information being put out about The Promise, especially the song Amazing Grace, I expected this cd to exceed my expectations. It was, for the most part, a huge let down.
Many of the songs start off calm and the sound level is very low, then suddenly, the music climbs and becomes so loud, it becomes unpleasant. It is not a "bad" cd, it simply was not what I expected it to be and left me disappointed. |

| If you like Bocelli. You will love this. It is the same feel of most of his albums. Just more great singing and great mood setting. He is so talented it is wonderful to blast his voice in your car. It really transports you to a better place. |

| There's a joke there that you'd get if you read my review for Keane's new album, Perfect Symmetry (sorry, couldn't find a link). Overall, it's a rather slow album that just kind of hangs around in the zone of brooding melancholy and doesn't really go anywhere. Dido has a wonderful voice but she seriously doesn't offer us anything truly exceptional to even require her inclusion into these songs. | Il Divo's "The Promise" I found to be the most soothing and uplifting music for my ears! I loved "The Power of Love" and "Hallelujah" even though most of the songs on "The Promise" are in Spanish it was still very beautiful to listen to. On the deluxe edition of "The Promise" you can pop the cd into your DVD player for three special features! If your a fan of any kind of opera you will love this very talented operatic quartet!

| Kilburn is a good show. But as previously noted it is a little sloppy, and Pete needs to be much further up in the mix. I don't mind sloppy, hey it's rock and roll. But the boys sound a little lethargic. (Especially when compared to the 69 show.) Pete is jumping around and dancing and windmilling like a madman, but the musical energy to back up the antics is just not there for good portions of the show. | This band completely lost focus since X&Y. All in all I feel that these songs would have worked fine as B-sides, and that they should be treated as such.
Life In Technicolor II: Part 1 IMO is better, all the freshness of part 1 is lost due to the horrible singing. It sounds patched and it doesn't flow well.
