| I will be honest, this is the first Beck CD I have ever purchased. In the past I would here a track and say to myself, "wow that is so cool". It seemed like a post-modern mish mash, very unique---at first. In reality it was like Doritos...delicious at first, but not sustaining. I am glad there were all those previous recordings, playing with strange musicality (kind of ultra-white boy chic)and wacky lyricism because it leads to this release. | Overall, this is seriously bland. This album has few bright spots- the brightest of which, "Paper Planes", leaves all other tracks in the dust.
This could've easily been a fairly solid EP of 5 tracks, but as a 12-track album, this is desperately lacking substance. Desperately. It appears as though she rushed this release to take advantage of the hype brought by her debut. Disappointing. |

| ...I really should have kept to buying their singles on iTunes. The rest of the album is a slight departure from the three funky, dance, hits: "Great DJ, "That's Not My Name", and "Shut Up..."
The rest of the album is forgettable, and if you actually bought the whole thing, expecting amazing music- regrettable. I'm usually reluctant buying whole album from new artists that I've only heard a few songs from, and this is exactly why. |

| Amazon referred me to Santogold based on my music purchases and I'm so glad they did. The music and lyrics are just what I was looking for...you'll be singing along to all the tracks in no time. I'm definitely a fan. |

| Look at the dates on the reviews. I think only one review so far is about the remastered cd set - and it flags several problems with the remastering. There is no word on sound quality (otherwise) of the remastered disc (sometimes "remasters" sound about the same as the older cheaper discs).

| This is one of my favorite albums of all time but I have to jump in on the remastering issues. I just bought this yesterday and I have the same flaw on the song Sunrise that the previous reviewer reported. I'll take his word for the exact time of the flaw but there is definitely a remarkable volume drop in the right channel in the middle of the song. | Please note that almost all the reviews here are for the original cd - not the remastered 2 cd set. See "Paul slop"s review for the real scoop. At least the first disc seemed to escape the clicks and other unwanted defects.
One star deducted for the poor remaster job. Amazon says: "Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of this 1986 album ... This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title." - No - this one is available. |

| As a fan of Depeche Mode since 1986, a new release is always cause for celebrtion. It used to mean a couple 12 inch singles would also be released with extended versions and maybe a b-side. then came cassette maxi singles and remixes. Followed by cd singles and imports, videos and downloads. The albums are all wonderful, and the singles have all spawned their own mini-albums...remember how many versions of Personal Jesus we got?!!? | ...when you think of all the great songs and bands heard on Season 1.I'm totally hooked on the show and have it on DVD,so I had to buy the CD just for the sake of having it.But it feels like someting's missing.12 Tracks isn't enough at all when you think that the OMFGG version sold on Itunes contains 15 (what happened?!...).And most of the tracks aren't the key ones of the season to.Not a single song from the pilot is on the CD as there should have been one,aside from "hard to live in the city","the gift" or "bounce with me" for example.Maybe number 2 will be as good as ...
