| I'm usually not too keen on Jazz Christmas albums but I heard one track from this CD (Santa Claus is Coming to Town) on an episode of House and was completely taken by it. On most jazz recordings you can have a hard time finding the original melody (and that does occur on this CD) but the musicianship is so good that I tended to overlook that aspect of the recording. I like my Christmas music to sound traditional but this CD will definitely get a spot on my playlist for next Christmas.

| If you like Christmas music, as I do, and you love jazz, as I do, I think this is the CD to buy. First of all, you have a great selection of standard, mostly secular Christmas songs: Rudolph, Here Comes Santa Claus, Jingle Bells, etc. But what really makes this CD for me is the line-up of jazz superstars. | Soul Christmas is definitely one of the best Christmas Compilations of all time. My Mom bought this CD a little over 10 years ago and it's been a Christmas tradition in our home ever since. I decided to buy it myself this year and after a LONG hunt, I finally found it (and at a wonderful price too!) on Amazon.com. Listening to Soul Christmas will definitely continue to be a holiday tradition for many more years to come. |

| Hard to add to the good reviews here, so all I can say is I've had this on vinyl for years and have always looked forward to playing it when the season arrives. Kenny is a master on the guitar and his take on these classic selections on this disc are superb. Stands the test of ime, buy it, you will have many years of enjoyment. |

| I LOVE the music on this CD.Lee Morgan was fantastic on this album.Unfortunately,I can't listen to this disc or any other that Rudy Van Gelder re-mastered during the later stages of his career.I have a very good 2 channel stereo system(Nad C325BEE integrated amp,NAD C515BEE Cd player and Polk Audio Monitor 70 3-way tower speakers).These speakers are well balanced in tone and VERY neutral and NATURAL sounding.EVERYTHING I have played on this system sounds GREAT except for the two BlueNote cd's I recently purchased that were re-mastered by ...
