| I'm picky.
And this cd surpasses what I had expected. I love when artists can show versatility from song to song. This cd does this, and then some, without losing the bluesy vibe. LOVE it. if you ever get a chance to see these fellas live, DO IT. I had so much fun I had to buy a cd as a memoir. This was a great choice:) |

| This is a good album, though a few of the tracks are fairly uninspired. Not sure why it's so highly praised. I think MMW freaks are more into it than Sco freaks. I'm a Sco freak, and to my ears, he's recorded much better albums. (Hand Jive, Groove Elation, Uberjam, Up All Night, Bump). MMW's music is a bit too diffuse for me; I don't have the patience to wait around for them to get inspired. Scofield's music is much more focused and disciplined, even when he's "jamming." | I am a big JS fan, as a musician he is an incredible composer and also a great guitar player,The CD brings you an incredible horn arrangements, Larry Goldings a superb organ player and a very nice mix of artist from the pop, rhythm blues and gospel areas, also incredible solos from JS. I heard him twice live in Boston at Berklee College of Music when I was student , for all the tributes honoring the music of Ray Charles this is the best so far, don't miss this one |

| Trying to stretch my musical tastes, and liking jazz on the whole, I tried this group and this CD, as Amazon selected this an essential recording....
I wouldn't have labelled it so. Going to resell this soon. No matter how many listens, I am unimpressed. I like music, meaning chord structures that permit melody, sensible counterpoint, and harmonies however abstract...but this effort is generally lacking. | I was looking at CDs on Amazon of various genres of music. I stumbled upon Galactic-never heard of them before. After listening to samples, I was really impressed. The CD arrived yesterday and I've been jamming to it since. A very creative mix of funk/jazz/rock/and who knows what else. Some albums have songs that sound the same. Not this one. You want a variety, you've got it. Some songs are smoother and more jazz oriented. And others have that gritty acid rock sound. Some sound like the '70's and others sound more modern. | I always felt that the Grateful Dead wrote some great tunes. However --
1. Other than Jerry Garcia, their musical technique wasn't strong enough to give those tunes a proper workout. (Okay, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh fans, flame away. I understand.) 2.
