| This is a compilation album of mostly punkish bands performing Christmas songs to benefit children with AIDS. Most of the performances are good. I particularly like the contributions by Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and New Found Glory. It's cheap and it's for a good cause, why not buy it? |

This was the first CD I ever purchased and revisiting it reminds me of what a treat some of this soundtrack was. The first half especially shines, offering mostly unreleased or rare tracks of good quality. Once Rollins band kicks off though the steady stream of metal recedes into more generic alternative and industrial territory, though the album ends on a mellow female vibe. | "Punk Goes Crunk" is the latest offering from the "Punk Goes..." series by Fearless Records.
My main problem with the album is that while each song is supposed to be a COVER, reinterperted by a band from a different genre, almost every song sounds like an actual hip-hop song. While it's hard to make a hip-hop song sound like anything other than hip-hop, there is a definite lack of electric guitars, fast drums, and shouting (all necessary punk rock characteristics). | "Chelsea hotel" by Lloyd Cole may very well be the worst cover in history. What madness would provoke someone to turn this great song into an upbeat softrock abortion? I love the drumming especially, wow, it makes me want to drive screwdrivers into my ears. And how it falls off after the chorus, So dramatic! -- like the buildup of a cheap soap opera before a commercial for douches. Total garbage. | This album is laden with great talent, solid production and most of all fun, fun, fun! The songs are not just silly, they rock! Curious?
Like many other people I have had this album since it was released and have never gotten tired of it. | Man, what's with all the 4 and 3 star reviews, cats? When you're looking for good RETRO SWING, you have to wade through a lot of mediocre albums. This is one of the best RETRO SWING samplers you can find. Perfect for a swing party because every cut just smokes. THIS IS FIVE STARS, TRUST ME.
Buy it used from an Amazon Seller. What happened to most of these guys? BRING BACK RETRO SWING!! This craze died out way too soon. |

| The 80's were memorable to say the least; in fact, it had an air all it's own. The music has stood the test of time, and still holds fond memories for those who lived through the decade. Apparently, the bands who appear on this album grew up in the 80's, and are covering their favorite songs, for better or for worse.

| Punk goes Pop is my favorite album, so my expectations were way high for this one. It was such a disappointment. This music just didn't do it for me which is sad because 90s music is my favorite. |
