| This set was a very nice play to my surprise. It's a combination of early takes, developed takes, soundtrack one-offs, and live performances all of which date from March 1989 or later. The 1989 takes are particularly fine and make me wonder at the sheer cussedness of an artist who leaves songs like "Series of Dreams" and "Dignity" in an unfinished condition, and then puts out a 39-minute compact disc like "Oh Mercy." | I have enjoyed Ben Folds for years. I think this album has a few GREAT songs including You Don't Know Me (Regina Spektor is wonderful with Ben) and Cologne is quietly intriguing. |

| I bought the two-CD basic version from Amazon for $16 or something--I forget--and the megabuck trifecta costs way more for just a little more, but let me point out this, my fine feathered friends:
You buy the result, and the result--in this case the extra songs--is going to be a bargain anyway. One listen of Red River Shore, to any true Bob fan, is worth $5, isn't it? Or half that? | This album didn't grab me on the first few listenings, but I'm still going to give it a chance. Joan's voice sounds good--solid, controlled. I saw her with Steve Earle's sister, Stacey, some years back. It was a great show and she performed wonderfully. I wish the selection of material on this album was more varied. |

| Simply put a wonderful album that takes on an emotional journey. I felt it was easy to connect with these songs upon first listen. It just sucks you in. Its hard not to be taken into Lindsey's world, the picking is beautiful, and I bow down before him, in sincere admiration for his artistry.
Age has nothing to do with it, this is the Lindsey we have alway known, full of passion, and with killer tunes to match, but I dig this most because its his most rocking! I wish you many more years of such ... Read More: |

| I haven't read enough about this album to know why these two ended up together (surely it's written up somewhere), but it is surprisingly an amazing collaboration. Someone gave the CD to me as a gift. I put it on and started cleaning the house, listening with half an ear. And somewhere on the album, I don't remember exactly where, I simply sat down and listened. And I didn't get up again for a while. It's like that. It stills you. It quiets you. It forces you to be aware.
